OSC Cross FW13/14 ‘Painted Fish Monger’ Coat :: PROJECT NYC 2013

When it comes to dressing and preparing yourself to battle harsh winters, it’s best to look up north to our friends in Canada for insight as they would best know how to handle the bitterness that the winter season brings.

During this year’s PROJECT NYC market, we stopped by OSC Cross to preview their durable outerwear that will be debuting this Fall. One key piece that we saw and fell in love with is their limited edition Fall 2013/14 ‘Painted Fish Monger’ coat. Inspired by Atlantic fishing in the Canadian Martimes and Victorian still life painting, the ‘Painted Fish Monger’ print is a collage of floral painting images with common fish market finds.  Highlights of the coat are the detachable wool shearling hood trim, reinforced elbow patches and back vent, inner security zippered pocket and inner mesh pockets. With the effects of climate change, we see OSC Cross playing close attention in how to accommodate for these changes and still keep style a relevant factor to their mission.
